Software Engineer Senior - Electronics Engineering

Profile

Our West Michigan client is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Senior Software Engineer opening within the Electronics department for a short term contract position.
As a Senior Software Engineer you will participate as a member of a dynamic project team which includes software engineers, hardware engineers, control/system engineers and project management. As a member of this team you will be responsible for analyzing system requirements to design, develop and test highly reliable, electronic control software for use in consumer appliances.
This position requires collaborating with electrical design engineers to ensure the product design will satisfy consumer, partner and company requirements while maintaining a strong communication to the supervisor and related departments with an eye toward necessary consulting and negotiation to optimize results.
In this position:
Perform advanced software architecture, translate that architecture into software design and implement those designs in embedded C solutions.
You will be challenged to design industry leading software solutions which include architectures that are highly modular and highly configurable through the use of configuration data
Work with the Controls/System engineering teams, leveraging your previous experience working in mature electronics organizations which demonstrated best in class Requirements Management
Utilizing your background working in high-volume electronic development you will perform complex problem solving and communicate on-going status of root cause analysis
Work with cross functional and multi-regional team members to ensure successful drive system integration within overall appliance product
Support the development of new products from concept through production

Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years professional experience in developing embedded real-time software applications is required
B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with a Computer Science minor, MS Preferred
Demonstrated experience in developing software using structured software design techniques
Demonstrated significant experience with C programming language
Clear communication and presentation skills
Ability to generate and maintain development schedules
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
Object-Oriented Analysis and Design experience is desirable
UML experience is desirable
Experience implementing communication protocols is desirable
