Director of Compliance and Risk Management

Duties: Oversee the University's compliance and ethics program and will have responsibility for all University-wide compliance efforts to ensure institutional compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as industry standards. Will participate in compliance decisions which impact the University. Will function as an independent and objective high-level member of the administration's senior management team. Provide leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor operational and strategic risk. Develop compliance tools, practices, and policies to analyze, report, and manage risks. Develop, establish, and maintain an effective university-wide compliance and ethics program designed to prevent, monitor, detect, and respond to non-compliance and recommend corrective actions to meet regulatory requirements, including a system of education and training to promote compliance awareness. Develop, maintain, and communicate policies and procedures that support the standards of conduct and ethical behavior adopted by the University to the University community. Ensure that the University has the necessary policies and procedures in place to comply effectively with applicable state, federal, and industry regulations. Investigate, as appropriate, all issues or potential of illegality or substantive issues that arise through proactive compliance monitoring activities. Serve as the university liaison for external relations with various compliance agencies and groups. Report compliance and ethical issues to the University President and the Board of Trustees. Serve as an internal consultant to senior staff and other administrative colleagues on a broad range of compliance and risk management matters.
