R & D Senior Food ScientistThis position places you within the largest global poultry company. This role is based out of our US Headquarters, which is located in beautiful Northern Colorado, with quick access to national parks, hiking trails, ski slopes and numerous outdoor activities. This role will be the technical subject expert to key customers and internal customers. This role would be responsible for developing, optimizing and commercializing new and existing products. Responsibilities: Lead customer engagements, both through product sampling, technical communication, and presentations. Sole technical touchpoint to key customers and subject matter expert for internal customers. Work cross functionally with and influence Marketing, Innovation, Sales, Culinary, Operations, Regulatory and Procurement teams. Expertly communicate technical development activities like costing, design of experiment, report analysis, etc. to cross-functional team Subject matter expert in ingredient and applications; independently able to troubleshoot product defects, (color, adhesion, etc.) while engaging vendors for both benchtop and commercial scale requests Lead vendors in new strategic platform development Direct, formulate and coordinate development of new products and improvement of existing products within the guardrails of plant processes, brand fit and costing Conduct sensory experiments and food safety experiments (such as shelf life) independently Independently collaborate with operations pertaining to product/process yield opportunities. Prepares technical data collection independently Other duties as assignedQualifications: Education: BS & 5-7 years of relative experience MS & 3-5 years of experience PhD & 0-2 years of experience Preferred in Food Science, Meat Science, Poultry Science, Culinology Well-versed with Project Management Systems A strong knowledge of USDA, FDA guidelines Experience in fresh poultry processing a plus Experience working in manufacturing facility requiredComputer literacy; including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Power Point, Microsoft TEAMS / Cisco Webex As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations.
