A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney to join its Trust and Probate Administration practice in Schaumburg, Illinois. This position is ideal for a junior attorney eager to develop a career in estate administration and probate litigation, working directly with experienced attorneys in the Cook County Circuit Court Probate Division.

Duties

• Assist in opening, administering, and closing probate estates in Cook County.
• Prepare petitions, inventories, accounts, and executor deeds.
• Manage post-death trust distributions and property transfers.
• Present motions and petitions in the Probate Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
• Draft probate pleadings, deeds, and distribution agreements.
• Interface with clients and financial institutions to manage estate assets and resolve tax liabilities.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of legal experience; probate/estate exposure preferred.
• Active Illinois law license or ability to obtain promptly.
• Familiarity with Cook County Local Rules and electronic filing systems.
• Strong legal drafting, research, and organizational skills.
• Empathetic communication style for clients navigating grief.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications
