A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney in Los Angeles, California. The successful candidate will manage their own litigation caseload from filing through trial or resolution, focusing on plaintiff-side personal injury cases. This role requires a strategic litigator with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.

Duties

• Manage a full litigation caseload from filing through resolution.
• Develop case strategy and litigation plans.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Conduct depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, experts, and defendants.
• Prepare and argue motions in court.
• Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Retain and collaborate with experts in various fields.
• Analyze liability, causation, damages, and insurance coverage issues.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and defense counsel.
• Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation and exhibit organization.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding case status and strategy.

Requirements

• Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Minimum of 5 years of plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience.
• Experience managing a litigation caseload independently.
• Strong knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure and Rules of Court.
• Experience with depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong organizational and case management abilities.
• Ability to supervise and collaborate effectively with legal support staff.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active California State Bar membership.
