Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Multi-State Associate Attorney to join its fully remote practice, with the role based in Pawleys Island, SC. This position requires active licensure in Texas and at least one other state, with a preference for candidates licensed in California, Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, North Carolina, Nebraska, Oregon, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington, or Wyoming. Duties

• Independently manage cases from initial intake through final resolution, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.



• Develop and execute legal strategies grounded in thorough factual investigation and rigorous legal analysis.



• Maintain substantive communications with courts, administrative agencies, clients, financial institutions, and opposing counsel.



• Draft and review complex legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, appeals, agreements, and security instruments.



• Appear at hearings and trials as necessary, while adhering to regular business hours aligned with the U.S. time zone.

Requirements

• Active licensure in Texas and at least one other state, with additional state bar memberships strongly preferred.



• Minimum of three years of substantive legal experience in relevant practice areas.



• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with a distributed team.



• Strong written and oral advocacy skills with a persistent, resourceful, and proactive approach to problem-solving.



• Willingness to travel for in-person hearings, firm trainings, meetings, and other firm-sponsored events.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar admission in Texas and at least one additional preferred state.

Skills

• Proficiency with Mac/Apple operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and Adobe Acrobat.



• Experience with timekeeping, case management software, and legal research applications.



• High level of organization, time management, and personal accountability.



• Adaptability and curiosity, with a commitment to client advocacy in Medicaid, administrative appeals, civil litigation, probate, and guardianships.
