Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Multi-State Associate Attorney for a fully remote position based in Asheville, North Carolina. This role requires active licensure in at least two of the following jurisdictions: North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia. Duties

• Independently manage cases from initial intake through final resolution, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.


• Develop and execute legal strategies grounded in thorough factual investigation and rigorous legal analysis.


• Maintain substantive communications with courts, administrative agencies, clients, financial institutions, and opposing counsel.


• Draft and review complex legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, appeals, agreements, and security instruments.


• Appear at hearings, trials, and proceedings as necessary, including limited travel for in-person events.


 

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of substantive legal experience in relevant practice areas.


• Active licensure in two or more of the following states: North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia.


• Strong written and oral advocacy skills with the ability to work independently within a remote team.


• High level of organization, time management, and personal accountability in a self-directed environment.


• Ability to travel for in-person hearings, firm trainings, meetings, and other firm-sponsored events.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Active bar admission in at least two specified jurisdictions.


 

Skills

• Proficiency with Mac/Apple operating systems and Microsoft Office 365.


• Experience with Adobe Acrobat, timekeeping, case management software, and legal research applications.


• Persistent, resourceful, and proactive problem-solving abilities.


• Curiosity, adaptability, and commitment to client advocacy.
