A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Associate specializing in employment and labor issues for its Political Law practice group in Washington, D.C. This role involves advising clients on employment matters and supporting the broader practice group. The successful candidate will also represent employers in administrative agency and employment litigation matters.

Duties

• Provide advice and counseling on day-to-day employment matters to HR and business clients.
• Advise on employment and labor-related matters under US federal, state, and local laws.
• Draft and revise employee handbooks, workplace policies, and offer letters.
• Advise on legislative and regulatory changes affecting employment obligations.
• Create policies, procedures, and trainings for compliance measures.
• Draft and negotiate employment-related documents.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
• Support the Political Law practice group with contract reviews and corporate governance.

Requirements

• J.D. degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in employment law.
• Strong interest or background in political law preferred.
• Comfortable providing direct counsel to clients.
