Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate with four to five years of experience to join their Technology Transactions team in Charlotte, NC. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with seasoned advisors, supporting life sciences and innovative tech companies in developing their IP strategies and facilitating essential agreements.

Duties

• Draft, review, and negotiate collaboration, partnering, licensing, and other commercial agreements for companies at various stages of their life cycle.
• Provide expert guidance to technology companies on product strategy, development, and market positioning.
• Advise clients on corporate partnerships, strategic alliances, licensing agreements, and aspects of product research, development, and commercialization in the life sciences and technology sectors.
• Assist in navigating IP and technology aspects of complex M&A transactions, public offerings, and venture capital financings.
• Conduct research and analysis on diverse technologies, including AI, fintech, autonomous vehicles, edtech, renewable energy, AR/VR, cybersecurity, biotechnology, and digital health.

Requirements

• At least four years of legal experience in IP and technology transactions.
• Strong interest in technology transactions for M&A matters and emerging company/venture capital clients.
• Excellent research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
• Commitment to excellence and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• JD is required.

Certifications

• Admission to the state bar of the office in which the candidate would be located.
