A law firm seeks an Insurance Coverage Attorney for its Oakland, CA office. The candidate will work primarily with attorneys in the Financial Services & Capital Markets business unit, with a preference for candidates residing in Illinois, Michigan, or Wisconsin. This role offers a flexible schedule and the possibility of a reduced billable-hour requirement.

Duties

• Handle insurance coverage disputes in the commercial insurance sector.
• Conduct factual investigations and discovery.
• Prepare pleadings and take depositions.
• Participate in mediation and argue motions.
• Communicate extensively with clients regarding coverage issues.
• Review commercial and personal lines insurance policies.
• Draft coverage evaluations and reservation of rights letters.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
• Experience with all phases of complex commercial litigation.
• Active bar license in the state corresponding with the office or commitment to obtain one.

Education

• Excellent academic credentials required.

Certifications

• Active bar license required.
