A law firm seeks an experienced Of Counsel Attorney specializing in habitability litigation for its San Francisco, California office. This role involves defending property owners, landlords, and property management companies in Superior Court cases related to habitability, wrongful eviction, and premises liability claims. The position offers a flexible, hybrid or remote working arrangement.

Duties

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Handle court appearances, depositions, and mediations.
• Manage a litigation caseload with varying levels of independence.
• Develop case strategies and evaluate liability and damages.
• Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel.
• Prepare status reports and case evaluations.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice areas.
• Mentor junior attorneys, if applicable.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in California.
• 5+ years of litigation experience required.
• Experience in habitability, landlord-tenant, or related litigation preferred.
• Familiarity with San Francisco, Alameda County, and Los Angeles County tenant protection ordinances preferred.
• Experience with cases involving multiple defendants preferred.
• Superior analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.

Education

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in California.
