A law firm seeks a Multi-State Associate Attorney to join its fully remote practice, with a primary location in Roanoke, Virginia. This role requires active licensure in two or more jurisdictions, including North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia. Duties

• Independently manage cases from initial intake through final resolution, developing and executing legal strategies based on thorough factual investigation and analysis.



• Maintain substantive communications with courts, administrative agencies, clients, financial institutions, and opposing counsel to advance case objectives.



• Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, appeals, agreements, and security instruments.



• Appear at hearings, trials, and administrative proceedings as necessary, while collaborating effectively with centralized operations and paralegal support.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of substantive legal experience with a demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment.



• Active licensure in two or more of the following jurisdictions: North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia; other active licensure will also be considered.



• Strong written and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to own outcomes from start to finish and exercise personal accountability.



• Ability to travel for in-person hearings, firm trainings, meetings, and other firm-sponsored events as required.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar admission in at least two specified states.

Skills

• Proficiency in Mac/Apple operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and legal research applications.



• Experience with timekeeping, case management software, and administrative appeal processes.



• Strong organizational, time management, and proactive problem-solving abilities.



• Adaptability and curiosity regarding Medicaid eligibility, civil litigation, probate, estate claims, and guardianships.
