Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Employment Law Attorney to join its litigation team in San Diego, CA. The firm exclusively represents California employees in wage and hour class actions and PAGA representative lawsuits. This role offers the opportunity to manage a dynamic caseload alongside a diverse team of attorneys and staff, with a hybrid work arrangement available.

Duties

• Manage a dynamic wage and hour class action caseload, interfacing directly with clients and coordinating with the broader legal team.



• Draft and argue law and motion papers, while conducting all aspects of discovery, including taking and defending depositions.



• Attend mediations and handle complex litigation matters, ensuring effective case management through specialized software systems.

Requirements

• Must hold an active California bar license to practice law in the state.



• Demonstrate prior civil litigation experience, with a preference for 2-5 years in employment law litigation.



• Exhibit strong legal writing and research skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented office.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active California bar license.

Skills

• Fluency in Spanish is required.



• Experience with federal and state complex litigation, such as wage and hour, securities, or construction defect cases.



• Proficiency in all aspects of discovery practice, including drafting and responding to written discovery.



• Familiarity with FileVine case management system and Lead Docket CRM system is desired.
