A law firm seeks a highly motivated Associate Attorney with at least three years of Workers Compensation defense experience for its New York, NY office. The candidate must be licensed to practice in New York courts and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in legal services.

Duties

• Handle a caseload involving substantial litigation defense.
• Draft, prepare, and handle pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct legal research competently and with proficiency.
• Prepare and take depositions of parties and experts.
• Review client documents and draft case evaluations and status reports.
• Assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances.
• Interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, and colleagues.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice in New York courts.
• At least three years of Workers Compensation defense experience.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel and Outlook.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills.
• Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures.
