A law firm seeks an experienced Labor and Employment Associate to join its team in Lake Success, New York. The ideal candidate will bring 7-10 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in employment litigation across federal and state courts, as well as before regulatory agencies. This role requires a self-motivated professional dedicated to providing high-quality counsel and innovative solutions.

Duties

• Manage employment-related litigation from discovery through trial, including drafting motions to dismiss, summary judgment, and discovery motions.



• Handle employer arbitration cases and administrative proceedings before tribunals such as the EEOC, NYS DHR, and NYCCHR.



• Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice on hiring practices, employee relations, terminations, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour issues.



• Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, policies, and contracts while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.



• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HR and management, to address compliance actions, audits, and inspections.



• Monitor developments in employment law and advise on potential impacts to the organization.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience practicing employment law, with a focus on litigation.



• Proven experience handling cases in both state and federal court jurisdictions.



• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.



• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the relevant state bar association.
