Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Gulfport, MS office. This role involves active participation in a dynamic litigation practice, providing opportunities to manage files and collaborate with senior attorneys on various defense matters.

Duties

• Handle a diverse caseload including personal injury, wrongful death, commercial disputes, construction and property claims, insurance defense, and premises liability matters.
• Represent regional and national clients, including insurers, contractors, and commercial businesses.
• Participate in all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and experts.
• Work closely with senior attorneys on case strategy and execution.
• Take ownership of assignments and contribute to an active and growing practice.

Requirements

• Experience in civil litigation, insurance defense, commercial litigation, construction, or related practice areas preferred.
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage responsibilities in a fast-paced litigation environment.
• Interest in developing as a litigation attorney with increasing responsibility.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Mississippi.
