Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Transactional and Litigation Attorney to join its New York, NY office. This role involves managing complex real estate and construction transactions alongside comprehensive litigation matters. The ideal candidate will provide strategic counsel, draft critical documents, and advocate for clients in court and during negotiations.

Duties

• Draft, review, and negotiate real estate and construction contracts, license agreements, and related transactional documents.


• Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.


• Counsel clients on risk management, strategy, and dispute resolution while maintaining organized matter files.


• Appear in court, conduct depositions, and collaborate with colleagues to develop case and deal strategies.


 

Requirements

• Experience in real estate and construction matters, with a strong background in handling trials and courtroom advocacy.


• Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive and procedural motions across different jurisdictions.


• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and work collaboratively in a team-based environment.


• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission).


 

Skills

• Transactional experience, with license agreements as a plus.


• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with a client-service and results-oriented mindset.


• Experience appearing in courts and managing matters across various jurisdictions.
