Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Community Association practice team in Jacksonville, FL. This role represents condominium and homeowners' associations in civil litigation and general counsel matters. The position offers significant client contact, meaningful responsibility, and mentorship from board-certified attorneys to help develop expertise in both dispute resolution and transactional work.

Duties

• Represent condominium and homeowners' associations in transactions, general counsel matters, and dispute resolution.



• Manage disputes from pre-suit mediation through arbitration or civil trials, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.



• Advise clients on board governance and handle covenant enforcement, including litigation involving association governing documents.



• Conduct legal research, prepare written legal analysis, and develop case strategies in collaboration with partners and clients.



• Communicate directly with clients regarding case status, strategy, risks, and potential resolutions, and negotiate settlements.



• Assist with depositions, mediations, hearings, and other court proceedings, and maintain organized case files and litigation calendars.

Requirements

• Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.



• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.



• Ability to independently manage deadlines and multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.



• Willingness to attend Board meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings remotely and in-person.



• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Florida Bar membership.

Skills

• Prior civil litigation experience is preferred but not required.



• Experience in community association, real estate, construction, or related law is a plus but not required.



• Familiarity with Chapters 718 and 720, Florida Statutes, is preferred but not required.
