A law firm seeks a Corporate Tax Attorney with four to eight years of experience to join its Tax practice in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will advise individual and business clients on tax planning, corporate formation, and complex business transactions while managing federal and state tax implications.

Duties

• Advise clients on tax planning, corporate formation, deal structures, acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, and restructurings.



• Manage federal and state tax implications, including choice of entity, federal tax audits, and administrative appeals.



• Interact with clients and manage relationships with state and local taxing authorities.

Requirements

• Four to eight years of experience in tax law and business transactions.



• Current license to practice law in the state of the office location.



• Ability to function independently and within a team environment.

Education

• LL.M. in taxation is required.



• Strong academic achievement history.

Certifications

• Active state bar license.

Skills

• Experience with federal and state tax audits and administrative appeals.



• Strong client interaction and self-starter capabilities.



• Ability to navigate complex cross-border or multi-jurisdictional tax matters.
