Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated Litigation Associate for its Tampa, Florida office. This role offers an opportunity to join a collaborative practice focused on commercial disputes, working alongside experienced attorneys to develop advanced litigation skills in a supportive environment.

Duties

• Litigate commercial disputes from inception through resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.



• Take and defend depositions, and prepare for or handle hearings, mediations, and trials.



• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and litigation management while maintaining efficient caseloads.



• Communicate effectively with clients, experts, and opposing counsel to ensure high-quality client service.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of commercial litigation experience in state and federal courts.



• Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.



• Strong analytical, research, and legal writing skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.



• Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal rules of procedure.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of Florida.

Skills

• Experience handling depositions and presenting in court.



• Preference for experience in federal court and arbitration.



• Proactive approach to work ownership and client service.



• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively with diverse teams.
