Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate will join a dynamic team to provide exceptional legal services in family law and estate planning. This role requires a proactive individual with litigation experience and a commitment to client satisfaction.

Duties

• Manage a diverse caseload in family law, estate planning, guardianship, probate, and estate litigation.
• Draft legal documents including motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
• Conduct depositions and affidavits for clients and witnesses.
• Perform and interpret legal research.
• Handle shifting timelines and priorities across multiple cases.
• Set and manage client expectations throughout the legal process.
• Provide support for other case types as needed.

Requirements

• Admission to the Maryland Bar; DC Bar admission is advantageous.
• Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience, preferably in family law.
• Experience in estate planning, guardianships, probate, or estate litigation is beneficial.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with case management software, Clio preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Admission to the Maryland Bar.
