Duties

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications with a focus on complex technical inventions.


• Provide strategic counsel on standards-essential patents and post-grant proceedings.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support sophisticated intellectual property matters.


• Engage in pro bono public service and community-building activities as part of firm expectations.


 

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.


• Experience in wireless telecommunications, communication networks, or electrical hardware/software preferred.


• Background in computer networks, semiconductors, storage devices, or cloud computing is desirable.


• Experience with mechanical inventions, medical devices, or digital health is a plus.


• Demonstrated growth mindset, teamwork orientation, and ability to thrive in an innovative environment.


 

Education

• Law degree from an accredited institution.


• Technical degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, physics, mechanical engineering, or equivalent fields.


 

Certifications

• Active registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).


• Admission to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction.


 

Skills

• Strong academic record with technical proficiency in relevant engineering or scientific disciplines.


• Ability to analyze and articulate complex technical concepts for legal proceedings.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client counseling and prosecution work.
