Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in Creditor's Rights to join their litigation team in Cincinnati, OH. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload, gain courtroom experience, and collaborate with partners and support staff.

Duties

• Manage a docket of consumer and commercial collection cases from filing through resolution.
• Draft complaints, motions, briefs, discovery, and responses to counterclaims.
• Appear at hearings, pretrials, and trials in municipal, county, and common pleas courts, as well as in Kentucky and Indiana courts.
• Handle matters in arbitration, including AAA and JAMS.
• Negotiate and draft settlement agreements and releases.
• Handle post-judgment work, including garnishments, judgment liens, and judgment renewals.
• Ensure compliance with the FDCPA, FCRA, state consumer protection laws, and industry standards.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing in Ohio; licensure in Kentucky or Indiana is a strong plus.
• 0-3 years of litigation experience; recent graduates are welcome to apply.
• Experience with collections, creditors' rights, or the FDCPA is preferred but not required.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Comfortable in the courtroom and able to manage a high-volume caseload.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for court appearances.

Education

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed and in good standing in Ohio.
