A law firm seeks a midlevel associate attorney to join its Projects, Energy, Environment & Resources practice group in Bellevue, WA. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of digital infrastructure and energy transition, engaging in power strategy design and navigating regulatory frameworks.

Duties

• Negotiate power purchase agreements and energy service agreements for developers, utilities, and corporate buyers.
• Advise on electric market design issues within RTOs/ISOs, focusing on capacity market mechanisms and interconnection policies.
• Represent clients in proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
• Counsel clients on energy policy, renewable energy integration, and carbon-free energy procurement strategies.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in energy law, with regulatory and transactional expertise preferred.
• Familiarity with the Federal Power Act and power transaction structures.
• Ability to draft bespoke energy contracts.

Education

• JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice or eligible to waive into the jurisdiction of the office location.
