A law firm seeks a Junior Asbestos Attorney to join its Midtown Manhattan office. This full-time, on-site role supports a dedicated team representing injured individuals in personal injury matters. The position involves managing asbestos-related cases from initial consultation through trial, requiring active engagement in litigation, research, and client advocacy within a collaborative environment.

Duties

• Manage all aspects of asbestos-related cases, from initial client consultations to trial, under the guidance of senior attorneys.


• Conduct depositions and discovery, draft motions, and appear in court proceedings.


• Conduct thorough research on asbestos-related cases, including the history of talc sourcing, mines, scientific literature, and various discovery sources.


• Collaborate with experts in occupational health, toxicology, and geology to analyze and present compelling evidence.


• Support senior attorneys in settlement negotiations with opposing parties, insurance companies, and other stakeholders.


• Meet with clients to gather detailed information about their asbestos or talc exposure history.


• Stay updated on the latest developments in asbestos-related law, scientific research, and industry trends.


• Explore opportunities to litigate other types of tort claims as needed.


 

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience litigating personal injury cases.


• Active bar license and licensed to practice in New York.


 

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.


 

Certifications

• Active New York State Bar License.


 

Skills

• Asbestos litigation experience is preferred.


• Understanding of asbestos litigation processes is preferred.


• Experience in other types of litigation is desired.
