Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Commercial Litigation Associate in Saint Louis, MO. The ideal candidate will manage all phases of complex commercial litigation, including factual investigations, discovery, pleadings, depositions, and motion practice. Experience in both state and federal courts is preferred, with administrative and arbitration matters considered beneficial. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, exceptional judgment, and the ability to handle multiple projects under pressure.

Duties

• Conduct factual investigations and manage discovery processes for complex commercial disputes.



• Prepare pleadings, argue motions, and take depositions in state and federal courts.



• Participate in mediation, arbitration, and potentially second-chair trial proceedings.



• Communicate effectively with clients and articulate legal strategies and courses of action.

Requirements

• Three to six years of experience in all phases of complex commercial litigation.



• Active bar license in Delaware or Illinois, or a commitment to obtaining one immediately.



• Proven ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.



• Excellent academic credentials and a demonstrated record of superior interpersonal skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Delaware or Illinois.

Skills

• Experience in administrative matters and arbitrations is beneficial.



• Second-chair experience at trial or arbitration is preferred but not required.
