Duties

• Review medical records and submit compelling appeals to insurers and governmental payers.
• Write demand letters and negotiate settlements with corporate payers.
• Apply knowledge of healthcare regulations to support appeal arguments.
• Develop legal tools and templates for appeals.
• Guide legal interns and paralegals as needed.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned.
• Navigate insurance systems to gather claim information.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines and compliance protocols.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (DC, MD, VA, or PA preferred).
• Law school GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• 3+ years of legal experience, ideally in healthcare or administrative law.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Clear and logical writing style.

Education

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic procedures.
