Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney to join its Civil Trial practice group in Tampa, Florida. The attorney will represent clients in various tort and contract claims, including premises liability, professional liability, defamation, discrimination, insurance, and transportation.

Duties

• Manage cases from inception through final resolution independently.
• Conduct factual investigations and legal research.
• Handle discovery and draft pleadings and motions.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Participate in mediations and communicate with clients and opposing counsel.
• Appear in court for hearings and other proceedings.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of civil litigation experience.
• Trial experience is required.
• Active license to practice law in the State of Florida.
• Good standing with The Florida Bar.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Florida.

Skills

• Strong case management abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in legal research and writing.
