Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced Construction Attorney to join its New York, NY office. This role involves representing architects, engineers, and other design professionals in construction projects, contracts, risk management, and legal counseling.

Duties

• Advise architects, engineers, and design professionals on legal and business matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate professional services agreements and construction-related contracts.
• Counsel clients on risk management, project delivery, and contract administration.
• Assist clients with dispute avoidance and resolution strategies.
• Provide practical legal guidance throughout construction and development projects.
• Support litigation and dispute matters when necessary.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in construction law.
• Experience with AIA contracts.
• Admission to practice in New York.
• Ability to serve as outside general counsel to design and construction clients.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and client counseling skills.
• Litigation experience is a plus but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York.
