A law firm seeks a Patent Agent with expertise in high-tech patent prosecution to join their Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will have a background in computer science or electrical engineering and experience in technologies such as hardware, software, and artificial intelligence.

Duties

• Review invention disclosure documents and conduct meetings.
• Conduct prior searches and analyze patentability.
• Draft patent applications.
• Review USPTO office actions and formulate response strategies.
• Manage U.S. and foreign dockets.
• Analyze patents for due diligence and freedom to operate analyses.

Requirements

• USPTO admission preferred.
• At least one year of patent prosecution experience.
• Experience with AI, machine learning, software, and hardware technologies.
• Prior law firm experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively.

Education

• Technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.

Certifications

• USPTO admission preferred.
