Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate to join its Litigation group, Business and Commercial subgroup in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of relevant experience and be admitted to the California Bar.

Duties

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support client matters.
• Prepare clear and accurate legal documents and correspondence.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Collaborate with lawyers and business professionals to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Exercise sound professional judgment and develop practical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in professional development and community service activities.
• Manage and support complex litigation and dispute resolution matters.
• Develop case strategies and assess litigation risks.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation-related documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions and witness interviews.
• Prepare for hearings, mediations, and trial proceedings.
• Participate in court appearances and settlement negotiations.
• Manage discovery processes and collaborate with internal teams.
• Monitor legal developments relevant to active matters.

Requirements

• 2+ years of business and commercial experience.
• California state court experience.
• Federal court clerkship is a plus.
• Experience with AmLaw 100 firm preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD)

Certifications

• California Bar admission
