Job Overview

Duties

• Provide comprehensive representation for plaintiffs in civil litigation and personal injury matters, including auto accidents, medical malpractice, and wrongful death.



• Conduct legal research, factual investigations, and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses while managing case strategy.



• Take and defend depositions, negotiate settlements, and prepare for arbitrations, mediations, and trials.



• Advise clients on legal matters, maintain timely communication, and manage caseloads independently while tracking deadlines.



• Represent clients in contested forums, including jury trials, court trials, and public board hearings.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience practicing as an attorney, with previous litigation experience highly preferred.



• Experience in plaintiff-side personal injury matters is preferred, with insurance defense experience considered a plus.



• Excellent working knowledge of California and federal rules of civil procedure.



• Demonstrated ability to handle disputed matters from inception through mediation or trial.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed by and in good standing with the California Bar.

Skills

• Strong writing, organizational, research, and communication abilities.



• Ability to spot and analyze complex issues and devise practical strategies and solutions.



• Self-starter with the ability to self-direct, work independently, and collaborate with colleagues.



• Comfortable advocating for clients in various forums, including public board forums and the state capitol.



• Willingness to travel as case assignments warrant and engage in phone or in-person client interactions.
