Job Overview

Duties

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements, easements, and loan documents in alignment with client expectations and closing timelines.



• Interface with deal counsel and clients to obtain required documentation and represent clients in acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects.



• Review and negotiate financing agreements with lenders while assisting borrowers, developers, and investors in sophisticated financing transactions.



• Conduct and manage due diligence, including title and survey review, and resolve real estate-related issues efficiently.



• Research legal matters as needed, including corporate and real estate law, and work directly with opposing counsel to manage transactions from contract through closing.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the North Carolina or South Carolina Bar.



• Minimum of four years of commercial real estate experience gained at a law firm or in-house legal department.



• Proven experience handling acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development matters.



• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills with a proactive approach to work ownership.



• Ability to independently manage matters while working effectively as part of a collaborative team.



• Comfortable handling the lifecycle of commercial real estate transactions with a strong attention to detail.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the North Carolina or South Carolina Bar.

Skills

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client service skills.



• Ability to work with a variety of attorneys, paralegals, and staff while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.



• Desire to develop and grow transactional skills by working alongside exceptional attorneys.
