Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate to support its expanding Energy Tax practice in New York City, NY. The firm considers qualified candidates for any U.S. office location. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex transactions at the intersection of tax law, energy, and project finance within a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Duties

• Advise clients on federal income tax aspects of project development, acquisitions, financings, joint ventures, and other complex transactions.
• Provide counsel to sponsors, developers, investors, and lenders regarding renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
• Analyze and advise on federal tax credits and incentives, with a specific focus on those applicable to renewable energy projects.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, client advisories, and transactional documents with high attention to detail.

Requirements

• Three to five years of experience in federal income tax matters, preferably with a focus on renewable energy, infrastructure, or other energy-related transactions.
• Demonstrated experience advising market participants on the tax implications of project development and complex financial structures.
• Admission, or eligibility for admission, to the bar in the jurisdiction of the office in which the candidate is located.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills, paired with a commitment to excellent client service.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

Certifications

• Active bar admission or eligibility for admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
