A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney in New Orleans, LA, to manage personal injury cases from filing through resolution, including trial. The attorney will develop litigation strategies, conduct discovery, and negotiate settlements, primarily handling auto and trucking collisions, premises liability, catastrophic injury claims, and wrongful death cases.

Duties

• Manage a docket of litigated personal injury cases from filing to resolution.
• Develop and execute individualized litigation strategies.
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Take and defend depositions of various parties and experts.
• Prepare for and represent clients in mediations and settlement conferences.
• Prepare cases for trial, including developing case themes and trial materials.
• Serve as lead or second-chair trial counsel.
• Communicate effectively with clients and litigation support teams.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to practice law in Louisiana state courts.
• Meaningful litigation experience in personal injury or similar fields.
• Strong knowledge of Louisiana civil procedure and court practices.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage a litigation docket independently.
• Willingness to travel for legal proceedings.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Louisiana Bar license in good standing.

Skills

• Strong legal research and case analysis capabilities.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to handle expert-intensive litigation.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
