Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Insurance Associate to join its Tallahassee, FL office. This role involves collaborating with a national platform on transactional and regulatory matters for insurers, reinsurers, and industry intermediaries. The position offers opportunities for direct client interaction and increasing responsibility in managing complex matters.

Duties

• Draft and negotiate transaction documents while analyzing insurance regulatory requirements for various industry participants.


• Coordinate multijurisdictional workstreams and assist clients in navigating regulatory issues arising throughout transactions.


• Advise on regulatory approvals, licensing matters, corporate governance, and regulatory due diligence.


• Manage multiple matters in a collaborative environment, demonstrating sound judgment and strong communication skills.


 

Requirements

• 2-6 years of experience in corporate transactions involving insurance businesses and insurance regulatory matters.


• Active member in good standing of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where admitted to practice.


• Timely admission to the Bar of the state where the hiring office is located is required as a condition of employment.


 

Education

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.


 

Certifications

• Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction(s).


 

Skills

• Experience with mergers and acquisitions, investments, restructurings, reinsurance transactions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.


• Strong writing, analytical, drafting, and communication skills.


• Ability to manage multiple matters in a collaborative, team-based environment.
