Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Commercial Litigation Associate in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will manage all phases of complex commercial litigation, including factual investigations, discovery, pleadings, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and client communication. Experience in both state and federal courts is preferred, with administrative and arbitration experience considered beneficial. Second-chair trial or arbitration experience is advantageous but not required. The role requires an active bar license in Delaware or Illinois, or a commitment to obtain one promptly.

Duties

• Conduct factual investigations and manage comprehensive discovery processes.



• Prepare pleadings, argue motions, and take depositions in state and federal courts.



• Participate in mediation, arbitration, and potentially second-chair trial proceedings.



• Communicate effectively with clients and articulate legal strategies under pressure.

Requirements

• Three to six years of experience in all phases of complex commercial litigation.



• Active bar license in Delaware or Illinois, or a commitment to obtain one immediately.



• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and demonstrate exceptional judgment.



• Superior interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of working well under pressure.

Education

• Excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar admission in Delaware or Illinois.

Skills

• Experience in administrative matters and arbitrations is beneficial.
