Job Overview

A law firm seeks a second or third-year litigation associate for its Atlanta office to join the Restructuring & Insolvency team within the Financial Industry Group. This role focuses on restructuring and insolvency litigation across state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, with regular courtroom appearances. The associate will collaborate with experienced attorneys representing debtors, receivers, and litigation clients from case inception through final resolution.

Duties

• Advise debtors, lenders, lessors, landlords, financial institutions, and trustees in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 cases.



• Manage adversary proceedings, state and federal litigation, and receivership matters.



• Appear regularly in court and provide substantial courtroom and trial experience across a broad range of matters.



• Work closely with experienced trial and restructuring attorneys to guide clients from the start of a case through final resolution.

Requirements

• Active member of the Georgia Bar.



• Strong litigation skills and a genuine interest in restructuring and insolvency disputes.



• Bankruptcy-specific experience is not required, but a federal court clerkship or other federal court experience is preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the State Bar of Georgia.

Skills

• Proven ability to appear in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.



• Strong analytical and advocacy skills suitable for complex financial industry matters.



• Ability to work collaboratively within a broad trial and restructuring practice.
