Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Special Counsel to join its Atlanta, GA office. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience advising clients on intellectual property, brand protection, advertising, marketing, and technology-related matters.

Duties

• Advise clients on intellectual property, brand protection, advertising, marketing, and technology matters.



• Manage trademark portfolios, including clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and brand protection strategy.



• Counsel on digital marketing, FTC compliance, influencer marketing, promotions, and consumer protection.



• Advise on IP issues related to technology, digital platforms, and emerging technologies.



• Review and negotiate commercial agreements involving IP, marketing, SaaS, software licensing, and cloud services.



• Develop and implement online brand enforcement strategies for infringing domains and unauthorized IP use.



• Advise cross-functional business teams on sophisticated legal and strategic matters.



• Manage domestic and international trademark portfolios and coordinate with outside or foreign counsel.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in intellectual property and brand protection.



• Significant experience with trademark portfolio management and enforcement.



• Experience counseling on digital marketing, advertising, and FTC compliance.



• Ability to independently manage matters while collaborating with attorneys.

Education

• Law degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications

• Active bar admission in good standing.

Skills

• Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.



• Organizational skills with the ability to manage complex matters.



• Experience with cross-border matters and foreign counsel coordination is a plus.
