A law firm seeks a Criminal Defense Attorney for a full-time, on-site position in the Greater Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville Area. The attorney will represent clients in various stages of criminal proceedings, ensuring effective legal representation and client advocacy.

Duties

• Represent clients in arraignments, motion practice, plea negotiations, trials, and sentencing.
• Meet with clients to assess case facts and provide legal guidance.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions and briefs.
• Prepare discovery and evidence for hearings and trials.
• Appear frequently in court and collaborate with attorneys and staff.
• Communicate with prosecutors, law enforcement, and court personnel.
• Provide clear guidance to clients on legal options and strategies.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in Criminal Law and ability to interpret statutes and case law.
• Expertise in Criminal Defense practice, including courtroom advocacy.
• Proficient in legal research and developing defense strategies.
• Active Florida Bar license in good standing.
• Experience handling criminal cases, including felonies and misdemeanors, preferred.
• Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong client communication skills.
• High ethical standards and sound judgment.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload under time pressure.
• Collaborative work style in a small firm environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Florida Bar license.
