Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Junior to Mid-Level Litigation Associate to join its diverse civil practice in Redwood City, California. The role focuses on class action defense, complex commercial litigation, and intellectual property matters within federal and California state courts. The ideal candidate will bring strong academic credentials and a passion for high-stakes legal advocacy.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support robust litigation strategies.


• Manage all stages of discovery, including document productions, depositions, and expert witness preparation.


• Draft precise legal pleadings, briefs, and other essential court documents.


• Attend hearings, mediations, and other critical legal proceedings.


• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and subject matter experts.


 

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in both federal and California state courts.


• Admitted to practice in California or New York, with a strong preference for California-barred attorneys.


• Maintain a 1750-hour billable requirement annually.


• Demonstrate a motivated, entrepreneurial spirit with enthusiasm for client development.


 

Education

• JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic credentials.


 

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in California or New York.


• A federal clerkship is considered a significant plus.


 

Skills

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.


• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
