A law firm seeks an Estate Planning Attorney for an on-site role in Frederick, MD. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive legal counsel on estate planning, probate, and related matters, including drafting and reviewing estate planning documents tailored to client needs.

Duties

• Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance medical directives.
• Advise clients on asset protection, probate avoidance, and succession planning.
• Represent clients in probate, estate, and trust administration proceedings.
• Conduct client consultations and analyze complex family and financial situations.
• Prepare detailed legal opinions and maintain accurate case files.
• Collaborate with the firm's team to ensure timely, high-quality service.
• Attend client meetings and court appearances as needed.
• Stay current on changes in estate, tax, and elder law.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Estate Planning, including drafting relevant legal documents.
• Strong knowledge of Estate Law and Probate, with experience in probate avoidance strategies.
• Experience with Estate and Trust administration, managing assets and distributions.
• Ability to develop Succession Planning strategies addressing family dynamics and tax considerations.
• Active license to practice law in Maryland; admission in Washington, DC and/or Virginia preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active law license in Maryland.
