Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate in the Tax Department specializing in Executive Compensation, Employment & Benefits in Washington DC. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience and will advise global clients on complex compensation, benefits, and employment matters within corporate transactions.

Duties

• Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate transactions, including multi-billion dollar mergers, acquisitions, and capital markets deals.



• Tailor compensation arrangements and address complex multi-jurisdictional employment and employee benefits issues.



• Optimize plan design to account for tax and securities law considerations while providing commercial and practical workforce solutions.



• Collaborate with cross-office colleagues to leverage global expertise on tax, securities, labor, and corporate governance matters.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in benefits and compensation.



• Sophisticated understanding of the legal landscape, market practice, and conditions in executive compensation and employment law.



• Ability to work as an integrated part of the client's team and manage challenging issues at any stage of a company's development.

Education

• Law degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications

• Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills

• Intellectually curious self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.



• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-office and client-facing interactions.



• Ability to protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information.
