Job Overview

A law firm in New Jersey seeks an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney to join its established and expanding practice. This role offers meaningful autonomy within a collaborative, system-driven environment, allowing the attorney to take ownership of sophisticated matters while contributing to the firm's continued growth.

Duties

• Independently manage a caseload of Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and Chapter 11 matters from inception through completion.



• Represent clients in contested matters, adversary proceedings, and bankruptcy-related litigation.



• Maintain substantial client interaction, providing high-quality advice, responsive service, and practical solutions while managing strict deadlines.



• Conduct legal research and draft motions, objections, briefs, and other legal documents.

Requirements

• Hold a JD and an active New Jersey Bar license in good standing.



• Demonstrate 2+ years of experience in consumer bankruptcy law, including handling contested matters and a high-volume caseload.



• Exhibit strong legal research and writing skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.



• Make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment in a business-minded manner.



• Be technologically proficient with case management software and legal research tools.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active New Jersey Bar license in good standing.

Skills

• Expertise in consumer bankruptcy law and contested matters.



• Strong legal research and drafting capabilities.



• Effective client relationship management and communication.



• Proficiency with legal technology and case management systems.
