A law firm seeks a Senior Attorney in Livonia, MI, to join their team. This full-time, hybrid position requires expertise in estate planning, tax, and corporate law. The successful candidate will manage substantial client responsibilities and collaborate across disciplines to provide comprehensive legal solutions.

Duties

• Design and draft wills, trusts, and healthcare directives.
• Develop advanced wealth-transfer strategies and prepare trust funding documents.
• Advise on asset protection and multigenerational planning.
• Handle trust and probate administration under Michigan law.
• Form and organize business entities and draft governance documents.
• Advise on mergers, acquisitions, and business restructurings.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts.
• Provide general counsel support to business clients.
• Serve as a primary client contact and manage caseload independently.
• Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals.

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in good standing in Michigan.
• 5+ years of practice in estate planning, tax, and/or corporate law.
• Demonstrated drafting skill across legal documents.
• Working knowledge of federal transfer tax rules and business entity taxation.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and meet deadlines.
• Clear communication skills with clients.

Education

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar admission in Michigan.

Skills

• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
• Ability to explain complex tax concepts in plain language.
• Experience with Michigan probate court practice preferred.
• Familiarity with Clio and NetDocuments preferred.
