A law firm seeks a restructuring associate to join its finance group in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in restructuring, representing companies facing financial challenges, and advising lenders and creditors in complex reorganizations and financing matters.

Duties

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support client matters.
• Prepare clear and accurate legal documents and correspondence.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering high-quality legal services.
• Collaborate with lawyers and business professionals to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Exercise sound professional judgment and develop practical solutions to complex issues.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
• Participate in ongoing training and development.
• Contribute to firm initiatives and community service activities.
• Manage and support complex transactional matters from inception through closing.
• Conduct legal due diligence and develop practical recommendations for clients.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and transaction documents.
• Support deal execution and manage transaction closings.
• Analyze regulatory requirements and compliance considerations affecting transactions.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of restructuring experience, ideally debtor-side.
• Experience with AmLaw 100 law firm preferred.

Education

• JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in the state of New York.
