Commercial Litigation Attorney
The candidate will draft of pleadings and motions. Discovery review and analysis, including email review and logging. Investigation and handling of pre-litigation claims. Assistance in long-term corporate projects. Support legal team with case files from inception through trial and appeal, or settlement. Legal research, assist preparation of pleadings, discovery and memoranda, motion practice, depositions, and appearances in state and federal court when necessary. Participate in mediation and case settlement negotiations. Work with external counsel as applicable. Review and negotiate settlements as applicable or pursue legal avenues for recovery or defense. Research and brief legal issues related to our practice and develop weekly news articles for the firm website. Attend court hearings. Law degree is preferred. Should preferably have 2+ years experience. Louisiana law license is required.
