Criminal Justice/Criminology or Criminal Justice - Assistant Professor
The candidate will teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. All faculty members at University are evaluated for promotion and tenure in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and university and community service. Must have earned either a Juris Doctorate degree with Ph.D. or other equivalent academic doctoral degree, with an emphasis in criminal justice, criminology, or another related field. ABDs may apply, but appointment will be at the instructor rank until the Ph.D. is completed. All areas of specialization will be considered; preference may be given to specialties that complement and/or extend department strengths including corrections, research methods, human rights, and gender and diversity issues. Should have effective teaching, the ability to engage in distinctive scholarly activities, and the capability to engage in discipline-related community outreach programs and projects are desired. Field or agency experience, grant writing, and/or work with diverse communities/populations are valued and also will be considered.
