Associate Attorney
The candidate will draft, prepare and handle pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda. Draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions. Conduct legal research, with proficiency. Prepare and take depositions of parties and experts. Review client documents, draft case evaluations, and status report correspondence. Assist with and participate in trial preparation, mediations, and court appearances. Interact directly with client claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues, and staff. Should have 5-8 years of defense litigation experience and an eagerness to learn. Must be a highly-motivated. Must be licensed to practice in Pennsylvania courts. West Virginia admission also is preferred. Must proactively work independently and as part of a team. Should demonstrate strong legal research and analytical skills. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Should have strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills. Must have the ability to move from case to case. knowledge of both state and federal court procedures is needed knowledge of EEOC/PaHRC procedures is needed. Proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Outlook, and navigating the internet is essential.
