Director of Clinical Billing Compliance
The candidate assists with implementation of an effective Compliance program to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct of members of the Integrated Clinical Enterprise. Provides guidance for campus leadership, clinical department chairs, and faculty on matters relating to facility compliance. Manages audit staff. Directs and maintains the annual Clinical Compliance Auditing plan for the hospital. Collaborates with senior management on monthly reports. Directs and maintains the investigation and resolution of reported compliance concerns. Identifies areas of risk for the College of Medicine and hospital through review of state and federal agency updates. Develops and implements monitoring and corrective action plans as needed. Monitors compliance plans and policies through risk assessment process. Ensures proper reporting of compliance violations both internal and external to UAMS as appropriate or required. Conducts and reviews quarterly research billing audits for both hospital and provider billing. Assists with preparation and delivery of yearly compliance education and provides in-service training as needed on various compliance topics. Manages the Recovery Audit Program and co-chairs compliance committee and biannual risk assessments. May perform other duties as assigned. Must have Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field plus 10+ years of experience in healthcare administration, compliance, finance, law, auditing and/or research including 2 years of personnel management experience. Computer proficiency (MS Office preferred). Must have knowledge in the areas of regulatory compliance, auditing, communication, problem identification, investigation and resolution, professional coding and billing, and risk assessment. JD degree or Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration or other related field preferred. CHC certification desired.
